Relish the feast
2 oz misunderstood ginger spiced whiskey
1 oz cranberry/raspberry orange syrup
1/4 oz lemon juice
Briefly shake first three ingredients in a shaker with ice, then strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Top with a splash of soda and garnish with an orange twist.
Cranberry Raspberry Orange Syrup: add 6 oz raspberries, 6 oz cranberries, several strips of orange peel (try to minimize the amount of pith), 2 cups water and 1/2 cup sugar to a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until berries fall apart. Strain using a fine mesh strainer, pressing with a spoon to extract all the liquid. Allow to cool and store excess in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
